“I always knew I was born to become an image and voice for our people. I want to live so that a kid growing up in a low-income neighborhood like mine can turn on the TV, point at the screen, and say, ‘Mom, he looks like me. If he can do it, maybe I can too.’ That’s why I fight for every role and every opportunity.”
“I was always a strong believer of the saying ‘If you can see yourself doing it, then you can do it.’ … The more you do, the more wisdom you get out of it. The more experience you get, the more knowledge you take in. In this, you get more comfortable with your intuition … The stronger your decisions are in life the better the confidence you will have in yourself to make ‘risky’ decisions.”
"I love being a representation to the Latino/Hispanic community as it’s hard to find certain idols that look like me. Walking into a Cinemark at a red carpet premiere and seeing a film I was in up on the big screen was emotional. My parents come from poor backgrounds and they never thought they’d experience that.”
